After a winter of continual rebuilding of the Bend Whitewater Park, it has reopend to kayakers, river surfers, and whitewater paddle boarders. Yea ha!
As a park it is a play spot for whitewater enthusiasts practicing river skills, including river surfing and river running. Kayakers and whitewater paddleboards can get a ton of experience in the park.
Whitewater hazards can be avoided with proper education, supervision, and gear. Paddle boarders in particular should be aware that this is not flat-water paddling. River equipment from cloths to boards will be the choice. This is a helmet and PFD zone. And, wear shoes!
