Mo Freitas is one of those guys who define what it is to be a waterman through actions more than words. He won the Payette River Games in 2015 with very little river knowldege but a ton of experience on the water. When I showed up at the event early in the week to warm up and learn the course, Mo Freitas was already there. The way he was paddling I said to myself "this kid is going to win this thing." I didn't know who he was, but it was clear he was a winner.
