Whitewater Paddle Board Filming

It's always fun to run whitewater on a paddle board, especially the "backyard rapids" of your home town. In this case, it's the Big Eddy rapids on the Deschutes River a short drive from where I live in Bend, Oregon.

And it is a treat to work with film makers who are as excited to shoot as you are to run the river. Gary Eidsmoe is a photographer and aerial video producer based in Bend. We teamed up to make this short video celebrating the joy of whitewater SUP.

River paddle boarding and photography are both forms of self expression and discovery. It's not easy to do either well. Both have their rewards in the form of personal accomplishment. To broaden perspective is why I myself am a photographer and river runner. During this shoot I got to be the talent, just do what I do on the river while Gary and his team shot video.

I enjoyed the river that day, and love the video. I hope you do, too.

Enjoy!
