Whitewater parks in general are catered to kayakers and surfers practicing skills. The Bend park in particular is for water enthusiasts of all kinds, boaters and boarders, families, and on-lookers.
A paddler can go to a park like going to a gym. Train, improve, repeat. You can get better faster in a park. Two hours spent in a park will allow for more reps and rehearsed moves than two days on a natural river.
The future of paddle sports is developed in the park.
